Modi In America Vs. Obama In India - This Is The Difference
As India braces itself for the coming of the world*s most powerful man, we do what we do best 每 a bit of finger pointing. Here*s the difference between what Modi experienced in America, vs. the VVVVVIP experience planned for Obama.
1. Air Force One vs. Air India One
gultpost
It is apparently not that hard to shoot down Modi*s plane with a missile - even the Special Protection Group's (SPG) haven*t approved it. Defence analysts don*t like it either and have requested for four-engined aircrafts with self-protection suites. Air Vice-Marshal (retired) Manmohan Bahadur of the Centre for Air Power Studies even said the only way Modi can stay alive is by avoiding conflict areas. The fact is that Air India One is a simple commercial airliner without any self-protection systems. All it can do is stay far away from conflict zones.

As for Obama*s plane, it*s actually pretty hard to shoot down - because there*s a decoy in his fleet of 3, with the other, a chartered jumbo jet for office staff and his security team.
Here*s a video of how awesome the plane is:
But here*s one really cool aspect to it 每 the communication center won*t be affected by electromagnetic interference after a nuclear explosion.
2. Obama brings a massive cavalcade to Delhi. Modi carpooled with Obama in Washington.

For Obama*s R-day cavalcade, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has also appointed one of its DIGs to be in the US President's cavalcade, but the guy won*t be allowed to have a gun or even a mobile. He*ll be armed with only a wireless set to talk to the intelligence agencies.
And as you can see in this photo, it looks like Modi carpooled with Obama last year.
3. Obama's Cadillac One vs. Modi's BMW
Obama*s Cadillac One might as well be the Batmobile.
thecarconnection
It is bulletproof and bomb-proof, and is loaded with night-vision cameras, a pump-action shotgun, and teargas cannons. You also can*t shoot out the tires 每 they are puncture resistant.
Modi also has a formidable car 每 kind of.

Our SPG doesn*t believe in Make In India cars, and rejected Modi*s Scorpio. His BMW 760Li High Security Edition can fend off explosives or armour-piercing bullet attacks, and can also save him from fire. There*s an emergency exit, emergency fresh-air system and more. But there*re some notable shortcomings. The Cadillac One is faster, heavier, and has both thicker metal and glass.
4. Modi was fasting when he went to America. Obama might enjoy keema and dal.
wsj
When Modi went to America, he was fasting, so Obama clearly didn*t have to worry about the food.

But for Obama*s visit 每 there is a microbiology lab to test his food and a designated butler to serve it. Modi also plans to host Obama for a private dinner - his first dinner as PM with a world leader. Obama apparently loves keema and dal 每 no joke, it's true!
5. Obama gets Visa on Arrival. Modi once got his visa rejected by America.
Obama will be getting a Visa on Arrival because Modi made that happen for Americans when he took over India. Once upon a time, Modi had his US tourist/business visa revoked under a section of the US Immigration and Nationality Act 每 he was considered guilty of having "directly carried out, at any time, particularly severe violations of religious freedom." Of course, he made up for lost time by chilling with America's President.
6. Obama will stay in one of Delhi's poshest hotels. Modi stayed in Obama's guesthouse.
bookdelhihotels
According to an unnamed senior police officer who spoke to Reuters, ※Obama*s security team will take over ITC Maurya Sheraton Hotel from January 20 and seal the place till the President*s departure.§ That means when Obama*s there, you can*t get a room.
For a Rs 75 lakh bill, what India is arranging for Obama*s bedroom will include:
Bulletproof windows
Imperial d谷cor
Silk-panelled walls
Expensive artwork
And there are snipers and 2,000 police and paramilitary men protecting it. Now what about Modi? Where did he stay? Oh right 每 Obama*s guest house. Or as the Americans call it, the Blair House. Looks pretty cosy though.

At least there*s the White House level of security. Which is good 每 but last year, a dude literally ※jumped the fence§ and cut through all the security.
7. The CISF is trolling itself to check air security. On the other hand, America learned well from 9/11.
reuters
India has really worked on ramping up air security because it frankly isn*t that good. The CISF is going to try to trick its own men with fake documents to see how good they are! You may think we're being slightly unpatriotic - but hey, America has not seen a single attack, but India sees ISIS terrorists even scribbling on bathrooms.
8. Modi made the best of Washington. Obama might check out the Taj Mahal for a bit.
Modi had planned to visit at least 50 places in the US. Here he is visiting the 9/11 memorial.
Don*t believe us? Here*s a massive YouTube playlist of his trips around the country on the official Narendra Modi YouTube page. Breakfast with American CEOs, Jewish community leaders, speaking at Madison Square Garden, meeting the world*s most important people at the UN office and even meeting kids at the Indian embassy 每 Modi did it all. As for Obama, it's just India Gate and maybe the Taj Mahal. Even here he's not invited Modi.
9. The Washington Memorial moment vs the Taj Mahal moment
reuters
Part of Modi*s itinerary was a trip to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, an important diplomatic moment as the monument represents Martin Luther King receiving inspiration from Gandhi*s teachings of nonviolence and civil disobedience to fight against racism. Obama isn't visiting Gandhiji's Samadhi as per his current schedule.

To create a moment that showcases America*s interest in India*s legacy, Obama is visiting the one place every foreigner visits 每 the Taj Mahal. Here*re India*s forces checking out the Taj Mahal and perimeter for security.
10. Delhi needs the world's most powerful man to visit as a reason to put up CCTV.

Delhi will see over 15,000 CCTVs set up across Delhi 每 in weeks - after Modi announced Obama*s visit. And the cameras near the hotel will be armed with 36x optical zoom ability. You already know how ridiculously secure Washington is, so there*s no point comparing India*s bad civil security with the fortress that Washington DC is. These guys are already considering drones to patrol the streets! Meanwhile in Washington, people can jump fences to crash White House Dinners!
